Imitate Mary’s confidence in God, Pope tells Rosary pilgrims

At the conclusion of a traditional Rosary pilgrimage within the Vatican on the last day of May, Pope Benedict XVI reminded participants of the intense Marian devotion of Pope John Paul II, whose beatification opened the month of May.

The Pope encouraged the faithful to imitate the Blessed Virgin in her quiet confidence that “nothing is impossible to God.” He ended his brief remarks by “entrusting the Church and the world to Mary’s maternal intercession.”

The May pilgrimage weaves its way through the Vatican gardens, beginning at the church of St. Stephen of the Abyssinians and ending at the grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.
