“To Be Born” invites viewers to consider the abortion decision from the point of view of a child who, in a surreal encounter with her mother, describes how that decision feels from the other side.

The film is produced by Spirit Juice Studios, a Chicago-based new media company, and was released on YouTube the same day it premiered in Marcus Theater in Orland Park, IL.

The film is based off “A Letter from an Aborted Child,” a short piece written by Chicago priest and sidewalk counselor Rev. Stephen Lesniewski, who has used the imaginary child’s words for ten years as part of his efforts counseling abortion-minded women.

The priest, according to Spirit Juice, estimates that over 500 babies have been saved with the help of the message contained in the “Letter,” and therefore decided to have the film version produced.

The film is available for purchase at its official website, www.tobeborn.com. The film also has its own Facebook Page.

Pro-life blogger Jill Stanek said she was pleasantly surprised at the quality and impact of the new short film, which runs around 12 minutes without credits. “This is a good film to show abortion vulnerable mothers, and it’s short enough that they should have no trouble sitting through it,” wrote Stanek.
